One of Abby's best friends celebrated her 9th birthday on Friday night with a Glitz and Gloss party, followed by a limo ride and a slumber party. Abby was so excited and couldn't wait to get the party started.
The girls had a ton of fun getting their nails painted, applying shimmer tattooes and just being girly girls complete with a fashion show. Then, they had a huge surprise with a ride to the birthday girl's house in a limo. Abby had never been in a limo before and she thought it was really, really cool. In all honesty, I thought it was really, really cool too and I wasn't even there.
So, 5 giggly girls (hopped up on plenty of sugar from cupcakes and punch), spent the late evening playing truth or dare, spin the bottle (with hugs) and just being silly. Abby had an awesome time and couldn't stop talking about the experience. That is, until she finally fell out during the afternoon and slept for about 4 hours before we had to wake her up for dinner.
And, I have a confession to make. When we were trying to put Katie to bed that night, we could NOT find her stuffed frog, Fergus. Katie always sleeps with Fergus and we searched the entire house, but couldn't find him. What did I do? I called my friend (the birthday girl's mom) and left a voicemail for Abby to call me. She did and she knew where Fergus was.
Later in the evening/morning, after our house had gone to bed, Abby called home from one of her friend's phones just to say hi! I didn't get to the phone before it went to voicemail, but listened and realized everything was ok. Around 6:45am, the phone rang again from the same number. Just Abby checking in to see how Katie and Jeb were doing. So much for sleeping in :-)
