Pretzel Turtles

While visiting my in-laws at Labor Day, my mother-in-law told me about some tasty snacks that a friend had made recently for a gathering. Pretzels with chocolate and a pecan. The best part was how easy they were to make...pretzel, Hershey's kiss, pecan.

That got me thinking...how could I make them even better? Add caramel, of course.

I'm actually making a large batch of these for our next snack day at work. Abby and I tried a few tonight, just to make sure they'd taste ok. Did they ever!

Ingredients:
Equal numbers of small pretzel twists, pecan halves and Hershey's kisses
3 times as many Kraft Caramels Bits (little round balls instead of the usual cubes wrapped in plastic)

1. Arrange a single layer of pretzels on a cookie sheet.
2. Press together 3 caramel bits to make a triangular shape (don't worry about it being perfect).
3. Lightly press the caramel triangle onto the center of the pretzel.
4. Unwrap the Hershey's kisses and place one kiss on each caramel triangle. If the kiss isn't stable, reshape the caramel triangle.
5. After all pretzels have caramel and kiss, place in the oven at 350 degress for 2-3 minutes. The chocolate should be softened, but not melting.
6. Press a pecan on the center of each softened kiss.
7. Allow everything to cool.

The pretzels can be stored in an airtight container.

Stumbling around on the internet tonight, I found lots of variations of this recipe. At the Hershey's website, there's even a recipe for KISSed Pretzel S'mores. Might try that sometime too.
