Face Plant

This afternoon, I received a call from the Y. They wanted to give me a heads up that Abby had an incident today. Knowing Abby, I wasn't sure what was about to be relayed to me.

She had been swinging and went to jump out of the swings. Instead of jumping forward, she jumped more down...and face planted in the sand. She fell far enough/fast enough to have some nice scratches (almost like really bad carpet burn) on her chin and one above her lip.

The counselor said that she wasn't upset and was ready to go back to her huddle as soon as they cleaned it off, applied neosporin and a band-aid. Two hours later, the band-aid was long gone and she was happy as a clam.

Upon closer inspection, we noticed that she actually cut the inside of her bottom lip on her teeth (ouch!) and got sand up her nose. But, she seems to be fine. Of course, on the way home from our church supper, I bought a bottle of vitamin E to apply a couple of times a day in the hopes that it will keep the scratches from scarring.
